Can I
use the Home Guard outdoors?
The Home was was designed for indoor use and is not weatherproof.
In case you want to use it outside, we would suggest using some type
of waterproof enclosure with a window for the Home Guard’s lens
to see the area you’d like to record.
Can Home
Guard show me what time an incident happened?
Of course! Home Guard has a built-in clock that lets you know exactly
the time something happened. When you have Home Guard connected to
your TV to playback video, the time will be displayed on the screen.
This is also called a time stamp.
How big
is the Home Guard?
Home Guard is slightly bigger than a deodorant stick or pack of cigarettes.
But you don’t need to have Home Guard exposed to capture video.
All that has to be visible during recording is the tiny camera lens
that’s like the tip of a ballpoint pen. You can hide the rest
of the Home Guard behind almost anything…a cereal box, flower
basket, etc...
Can Home
Guard record in the dark?
Home Guard is designed to record only when there’s suitable
ambient light. It will not function well in very or completely dark
environments. For the technically inclined, Home Guard’s lux
rating is about 0.5lux. If you need a solution that will record in
very low light, please call us or browse our website for more options.
We’ll be happy to guide you to the correct CCTV camera for your
needs.
How does
Home Guard detect motion?
Home Guard’s internal DVR knows when the image it sees changes,
which will trigger it to record. The great thing about Home Guard
is that you can adjust the DVR’s sensitivity to this motion
from hair trigger to major motion only.

to power the Home Guard or contact us for more options.

I’ve
seen Home Guards listed as 64MB, 128MB and 256MB. Do you carry those?
The smaller memory size Home Guards are the older technology MJPEG
compression that provides a lower quality video than the new MPEG4
video compression that our Home Guards use. Also, the memory capacity
has been increased and there are more options such as scheduled
recording. We still have some 128MB and 256MB units in stock. Please
contact us for up to date information on our stock level. These
units start as low as $169.
Is Home
Guard a wireless camera?
No, Home Guard is a fully enclosed camera and recorder combo. It’s
only wireless in the sense that there are no wires to be run if
you want to record video. A wireless camera sends radio signals
through the air to a receiver that then converts the information
into video.
What
is the Home Guard supposed to look like?
The Home Guard was designed to look like an air freshener that you’ll
typically find in offices. It’s an inconspicuous design that
gets easily overlooked in almost any environment. If you think Home
Guard still needs to be more concealed, you can hide the Home Guard
in many places as long as its tiny camera lens is exposed.
Why
Home Guard?

a lot of money and waste a lot of space on a traditional video surveillance
system. It’s built in DVR and camera offers great video and
it’s often used when traditional systems are not feasible.
Is the
Home Guard easy to use?
Absolutely! Home Guard is designed to be very user friendly and

camera before. Feesha’s representatives will help you all
the way and if you’re not satisfied with how easy it is to
use, we’ll take it back.
How
does the Home Guard record video?
Home Guard records video in a couple of ways, depending on your
needs. You can set the Home Guard to record continuously, record
only when it detects motion in its view or on a schedule (ie. When
you’re not home, for example 8am to 6pm).
Does
the Home Guard record in color? What about the camera lens?
Yes, Home Guard records color images through its 3.8mm cone lens.
The lens provides a horizontal field of view of about 70°. That
means that at about 5ft away, the Home Guard can see the entire
front of an average car.
Does
the Home Guard record audio?
No, the Home Guard does not accept audio signals for recording.
We do have DVRs that record audio, but you should check your local
laws to see if this is legal.
What
happens when the memory is full?
Home Guard has a switch on its control panel that allows you to
either stop the recording when the memory is full or you can have
Home Guard loop the video. That means it will overwrite a bit
of the beginning of the recorded video, but you’ll still
have the rest to look over later.
How
do I know that Home Guard is recording? Is there a light or sound?
Home Guard does not make any sound when recording or during playback.
This helps keep the unit covert and not bring attention to itself.
When recording, Home Guard has a red LED on the back panel to
indicate it’s recording. It isn’t overly bright and
should not reflect.
How
do I mount Home Guard once I get it?
This is where you can be creative…or not. Home Guard can
easily be placed on any flat surface such as a fireplace mantle
or side table. Or you can get sneaky and put it in a cereal box,
behind a plant or almost any place you can think of. Only Home
Guard’s tiny camera lens needs to be visible. Home Guard
also comes with a bracket for ceiling or wall mounting.
How
long will the batteries last in the Home Guard?
With 4 AA alkaline batteries, you can expect to get about 8 hours
of “on” time. Rechargeable batteries are a great idea
and they sometimes last longer than disposable batteries. And
they’re good for the environment also! Of course, you can
always use the included power adaptor if there is an available
outlet nearby.
How
do I go back and look at the video that was recorded?
Easy! Plug the video cable that comes with Home Guard into the
back of the unit and to the little yellow video connection on
your TV. Switch your TV to the right input and there it is! From
there it’s easy to search video via the buttons on the back
of your Home Guard.
How
can I backup a copy of the video if I need to show it to the authorities?
Home Guard video can be recorded to any VHS recorder to create
a tape to aid police in finding and prosecuting a criminal.
Can
I view my recorded video over the Internet?

not easily added to such a small package. For video viewing through
the Internet, please contact us or take a look at our full line
of DVRs with this capability.
